The Hour of Code will return to Mayfield Woods during the week of December 5 - 9!
We live in a world surrounded by technology. And we know that whatever field our students choose to go into as adults, their ability to succeed will increasingly hinge on understanding how technology works. But only a tiny fraction of us are learning computer science, and less students are studying it than a decade ago.
That’s why our entire school joined in on the largest education event in history: The Hour of Code, during Computer Science Education Week (Dec. 5-9). Our students will be amongst over 100 million worldwide who have already tried the Hour of Code.
Our Hour of Code is a statement that Mayfield Woods Middle School is ready to teach these foundational 21st century skills to our students. We believe this will be an exciting opportunity for our students and we encourage you to talk to your child about it and even consider participating in additional activities in your home and neighborhoods.
Mayfield Woods Middle School students will participate in the Hour of Code throughout the week during their science classes. The schedule is as follows:
