Measures of Academic Progress® (MAP®)

Children in grades 6-8 participate the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) testing in mathematics and reading.  MAP is an untimed computer-adaptive assessment that measures student growth and achievement, independent of grade level or age.  This is but one indicator of your child’s progress, providing us an additional piece of information about achievement levels and growth in acquiring reading and mathematics skills.   

Winter 2018 MAP testing will begin in February.   We ask that if possible, you try to avoid student absences on these days so your child does not have to test on a make-up day.  Students will test in both English Language Arts (ELA) and math* as follows:

• 6th grade (8:10 a.m. - 10:44 a.m.):  
  • February 6 - Math
  • February 7 - Reading: Rescheduled to the inclement weather day on Feb 7
    • ​If schools open on-time on Feb 8, 6th grade MAP reading will be given to students on 2/8
    • If schools are delayed on Feb 8, 6th grade MAP reading will be rescheduled for Tuesday, February 20.

• 7th grade (8:10 a.m. - 10:44 a.m.):  
  • February 14 - Math
  • February 15 - Reading

• 8th grade (9:54 a.m. - 12:25 p.m.):
  • February 12 - Math
  • February 13 - Reading

*7th and 8th grade students in GT math will not take MAP this year
