Required Immunizations for 7th Graders, Vaccine Clinic Info

Fri, 04/24/2020 - 11:59pm

Effective the first day of the 2020-2021 school year, 1 dose of Tdap vaccine and 1 dose of Meningococcal vaccine (MCV4) is required by the state of Maryland for all students entering grade 7. Many students may have already received these immunizations, but the Health Room may not have the updated immunization record.

While we realize this time of social distancing may make it impractical to follow up with your physician, if you have any of these documents in your home, we would appreciate it if you would scan and email them back to the school nurse, Tracy Jerome, at You may also take a cell phone picture and send via email.

If you do not have the documents at home, please follow up with your medical provider at your next office visit after the COVID-19 restrictions have been lifted.

Please do not hesitate to email Mrs. Jerome at, if you have any questions.

The Howard County Health department is holding vaccine clinics on Wednesdays and Thursdays and there is currently no wait time to get in!!    If your child needs a vaccine (or two J),  please consider calling the Immunization Clinic at 410-313-7500.  Interpreters are available!  Those who can receive vaccines include children without insurance or those with Medical Assistance.  You can contact your school nurse Tracy Jerome at if you have questions or need information about your child’s immunization status.

NOTE:  This is for routine well child vaccines required for school and does not include the covid vaccine.
