The Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) assessment is designed to measure a student’s academic achievement and growth over time in reading and mathematics. Together with other classroom-based information, MAP results can help teachers make instructional decisions that match the needs of each child.
MAP is a computer adaptive assessment. In a computer adaptive assessment, as a student responds to questions, the test responds to the student, adjusting up or down the difficulty of the questions presented to the student. This creates a personalized assessment for every student.
7th and 8th Grade students will be taking Math on February 3rd, 5th and 6th and English will be given on February 10th, 11th and 12th.
Those students enrolled in Algebra I or Geometry will not be taking the MAP Math assessment and those students enrolled in 8th Grade GT English will not be taking the MAP Reading assessment.
All 6th Grade students will be taking MAP on February 17th (Math) and February 18th (Reading).
We ask that you try not to schedule appointments during your student's test time/day to avoid having to take your student from classs to make up the assessment. Also, please make sure your student gets a good night's rest, eats breakfast, arrives on time and is ready to do their best on each testing day.
