Is Your Child taking Algebra, Geometry, Spanish (8th grade) or French (8th grade)?

Policy 8030: Graduation Requirements states: “High school courses which are offered at the middle school level are eligible for high school credit.” These courses will follow the same policy as all other high school courses.

Middle school students enrolled in high school level courses (Algebra, Geometry, Spanish 8 or French 8) who withdraw after the HCPSS published withdraw day, October 23, 2018 (this has been changed; it was 10/18/18), will receive a “W” on their high school transcript.

Grades earned from high school courses taken in middle school do appear on the high school transcript, but are not calculated into the high school grade point average.   Refer to Policy 8030: Graduation Requirements for full details.
