Thank you for our delightful “Garden Party”!
This past week was “Staff Appreciation Week” and on behalf of every staff member at Mayfield Woods, I thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Our faculty lounge was transformed into a beautiful, tranquil garden, and each day we were spoiled with treats - ending in a delicious luncheon on Friday. We felt very special and appreciated, and also very lucky to be part of such an amazing community. Thank you to everyone who acknowledged our staff, donated time & treats, and helped us feel valued. A special thank you to Kobey DeVale for organizing the entire week!
ELA PARCC testing has been completed and we are moving onto the math portion of PARCC.

Will your child be in 7th grade next year? As a reminder, effective the first day of school 2018-2019, 1 dose of Tdap vaccine and 1 dose of Meningococcal vaccine are required by the state of Maryland for all students entering Grade 7. If we DO NOT receive proof of immunization, your child will be excluded from school. Paperwork was sent home (to parents whose children need immunizations), regarding our immunization clinic here at Mayfield on May 29. Click here for more information.
Have a wonderful weekend and I hope to see you next week at MayFest!
Sincerely,
On May 4th we recognized 8 outstanding students as April’s Citizens of the Month! Each month teachers from 6th, 7th, and 8th grades, along with teachers from related arts choose two students to be “Citizens of the Month”. This honor is awarded to students who demonstrate exemplary achievement, attitude, attendance, and BARK attributes: Be Safe, Act Responsibly, Respect Self and Others, and Keep Focused. Congratulations to the April selections for Citizens of the Month!!
*Some names have been omitted due to being on the “no name/no photo” list.
Attention 6th grade families! Do you know that your child must have certain immunizations before the first day of school, of the 2018-19 school year? Click here for more information.
