Dear Mayfield Woods Middle School Families,
I hope you and your family have enjoyed a wonderful, restful, and memorable summer. While the weeks have flown by, our staff has been hard at work preparing for another outstanding school year, and we are excited to welcome everyone back to school on Monday, August 24!
As we begin a new year together, we are especially excited to welcome our newest members of the school family. We invite all rising sixth-grade students and families, as well as students who are new to our school, to attend our New Student Orientation on Thursday, August 20, at 1:00 p.m. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet staff members, tour the building, learn about middle school life, and begin building the connections that make our school such a special place.
As we prepare for the start of the school year, please know that additional information and updates will be shared with our community as we approach the opening of school. We look forward to keeping you informed every step of the way and are excited to welcome everyone back.

We are grateful for their willingness to serve our school commUNITY, and we deeply appreciate the outstanding relationship we enjoy with our PTA. Their partnership helps make our school an even better place for students, staff, and families. If you are not already a PTA member, I encourage you to join. Your involvement, whether through volunteering, attending events, or simply becoming a member, makes a meaningful difference in the experiences we provide for our students.
Every year, I am reminded how fortunate we are to serve the wonderful young people our community entrusts to us. Our students are talented, compassionate, resilient, and full of potential. It is truly a privilege for our faculty and staff to work alongside them each day as they learn, grow, and discover who they are becoming.
As we prepare for another exciting year, we also renew our commitment to something that has become part of our school's identity. We proudly continue to claim our school as the friendliest middle school in the country. That reputation is built through the kindness we show one another, the respect we extend to every member of our school family, and the welcoming environment we create together each day. It is a tradition worth protecting, and one we will continue to strengthen throughout the coming year.
