A Summer Message From The MWMS Principal David Strothers

Dear MWMS Families,

Summer is almost over, and we couldn't be more excited to welcome our students back on Monday, August 25th!  Last year was a phenomenal year, full of achievements, growth, and moments that made us all proud.  Our students and staff worked together to create a positive, engaging, and supportive climate, and we are committed to keeping that momentum going into this school year.

Over the past few years, our school has made tremendous progress, and we are proud to call ourselves the Friendliest Middle School in the Country!  We are grateful to our community for sending us such wonderful young people, who are kind, curious, and eager to learn.  Our dedicated staff continues to work tirelessly to provide meaningful learning experiences, build positive relationships, nurture, and foster the growth of every student.

Important dates to remember:

-6th Grade & New Students Orientation:

 Thursday, August 21st, 1:00 - 2:00PM, School Cafeteria

-Back to School Night: Thursday, September 4th, 6:00-8:00PM

All 6th grade and new students will receive a chrome book and charger within the first couple of weeks of school. A friendly reminder, the use of cell phones, ear buds, and similar devices are not permitted at any Howard County School during the school day.

We cannot wait to see our students' smiles in the hallways, the excitement in our classrooms, and the friendships that make our school community so special.  We will continue to show our students how much we care for them by expecting ALL of them to succeed and excel.  Thank you for being a vital part of our commUNITY.  We are ready for another amazing year learning, laughter, and growth!  Enjoy the remaining days of summer, and we will see you very soon.

With excitement and gratitude,
