Children in grades 6-8 participate the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) testing in mathematics and reading.  MAP is an untimed computer-adaptive assessment that measures student growth and achievement, independent of grade level or age.  This is but one indicator of your child’s progress, providing us an additional piece of information about achievement levels and growth in acquiring reading and mathematics skills.   

Fall 2018 MAP testing will begin in October.   We ask that if possible, you try to avoid student absences on these days so your child does not have to test on a make-up day.  Students will test in both English Language Arts (ELA) and math* as follows:

• 6th grade (8:10 a.m. - 10:44 a.m.):  
  • October 1 - Reading
  • October 2 - Math

• 7th grade (12:10 p.m. - 2:45 p.m.):  
  • October 1 - Reading
  • October 2 - Math

• 8th grade (9:54 a.m. - 12:28 p.m.):
  • October 4 - Reading
  • October 5 - Math

*7th and 8th grade students in GT math will not take MAP this year
