The Carson Scholars Fund is looking for students who...

 Are in 4th - 11th grade
Have at least a 3.75 GPA
 Display humanitarianism through community service

The Carson Scholars Program 2018 nomination form and online scholarship application are now available. Only one student from your school can be nominated for this prestigious award unless otherwise told by a CSF staff member. Please be aware that other educators at your school may also have access to the nomination form – still only one student per school can be nominated. You must nominate a new student – one who has not previously been named a Carson Scholar.

After you have reviewed our Nomination Rules and Policies and a student has been selected for nomination, please complete the Nomination Form. The nomination form asks for your nominee’s contact information, GPA and your school information. Once your nominee is approved, you will receive a confirmation email and within 48 hours of approval the student will receive an email with a link to the full application. Please remember that nominating a student is not a guarantee of an award. The sooner you nominate a student, the more time they have to complete the online application.

Nomination Form

Our scholarship program is open to students in grades 4 through 11 who have at least a 3.75 GPA (for the current school year) and are involved in community service. If you would like to view our essay questions so that you can use them as part of your nomination process, or need other suggestions regarding how to nominate a student, visit our website for Nomination Tips and Essay Questions. Please make sure to review our GPA calculation rules before deciding on a nominee, as they may differ from how you normally calculate a GPA. The student’s application will be disqualified if he/she does not meet our GPA requirement.

Here is an overview of the entire online process:

  1. The school nominates a student and completes the online nomination form. Deadline: Wednesday, December 20, 2017. Within 48 hours of nomination approval, the student will receive an email with a link to the online application.
  2. The nominated student completes the online application. The application includes submission of an essay, report card, biographical information, community service details and (online) teacher recommendation. Deadline: Monday, January 8, 2018.
  3. The principal receives an email on January 10, 2018 asking him/her to verify that the nominee's application has been completed honestly. Deadline: Friday, January 12, 2018. Principals cannot be sent verification information until after the application has closed.

Please set your email account to allow all emails from @carsonscholars.org and @wizehive.com to prevent important emails from going in your spam filter.
Visit our website to learn more about the entire online process and what your student will need to do once nominated. The Educator page and Prospective Scholar page are also helpful resources.

Please feel free to contact Lacey Richards at 410.828.1005 or lrichards@carsonscholars.org with any questions or concerns. If you feel the online application is not right for your school or nominee, please contact me. There are a limited number of hard copy applications available.
